Dropping Stitches & Picking Up Tips

In this two hour class, you will learn how to fix some of the most common mistakes even the most experienced knitters make, and pick up some handy dandy tips at the same time.

Class cap is 8

Class fee is $20

Skills required: in order to have a successful class, you must know how to knit and purl

Class pre-work: please come to class with a 4x4 inch garter stitch and a 4x4 stockinette stitch square in light colored worsted weight yarn on appropriately sized needles with the work still on the needles.

Materials needed: class pre-work, size G or H crochet hook, tapestry needle, contrasting yarn (scrap)

We will learn how to:

1. Pick up stitches in stockinette
2. Pick up stitches in garter
3. Put stitches back on the needle
4. Determine if a stitch is backwards and how to fix it
5. How to run a lifeline
6. How to “read” your stitches
7. How to determine which way to go if you stop working in the middle of the row?
